David's Letter to Home School Groups and Families
Dear Home School Group Leaders and Families,
My name is David Williams, and I am so excited to be in touch with you to announce the introduction of several communication classes and programs I am introducing specifically for home school students and families all over the country. These classes are designed to instill confidence in our young people, and to give them a format to grow and practice in the gifting God has placed inside them. Through training and practice, students will better understand their God-given gifts and ultimately learn to communicate effectively to others.
I am originally from Loveland, Colorado, and was home schooled by my parents from Kindergarten through 12th grade along with my three sisters. In 2001, God led me to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Oral Roberts University. It was certainly a faith journey as the first day I stepped foot on campus was the first time I had been to Tulsa and the first time I had ever been to Oklahoma. Soon I would realize that God wanted me to live here. I received my degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication, and also majored in Theological and Historical Studies with an emphasis in Christian Philosophy. At ORU, I met my wife, Kendel, and we now live in Broken Arrow along with our two young sons and another baby on the way. I work as Practice Management Consultant in the field of Optometry and help doctors around the country increase the profitability of their practices as well as their patient care.
Five years ago, I conducted my first week-long speech class for 8 students in my hometown. This event laid the groundwork for the curriculum of the programs I am now introducing in all 50 states. With 17 students in my next class the following summer, I was able to get a great idea of the impact these programs could have on the home school community. Since that time, I married my wife, had two beautiful baby boys, and began my new life here in the Tulsa area.
The Bible says to Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. Peter also adds in the third chapter of his second epistle, verse fifteen, but do this with gentleness and respect. My passion is to help our young people to not only be prepared to give an answer, but to also know how to do so with gentleness and respect as the Bible says. My vision to help those in the body of Christ to communicate his Word with the conviction and sensitivity Christ himself embodied.
These Speech Master classes are designed to equip our young people with skills and information that will help them effectively communicate in social situations, their professions, to their families, and most importantly, in conveying the Gospel message. We take a look at the "Speech Master" Himself, Jesus Christ, and pattern our style and behavior in communication from the One who we all should be like so we can be ready to share the hope we have along with the passions God has placed inside of all of us. My goal is to cultivate a setting that not only teaches students vital skills for communicating effectively, but also allows them to see the wonderful design God has placed on their life. I want to see students become confident in their gifting and give them helpful advice to properly and effectively communicate that gift in any arena.
I am extremely excited to be offering these courses again, and look forward to the opportunity to meet you and explore the possibilities in organizing classes in your group for both students and families.
May God bless you in all you do and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Most Sincerely in the Lord,
